MEET JOHN SAUCEDO

A Portfolio of Dance

John Saucedo is from Austin, TX. He began his dance journey in middle school and continued into high school, where his love for dance grew and he made the decision that he wanted to pursue a career in dance. John is currently receiving his BA in dance with a minor in English at Texas State University. At Texas State, he has had the opportunity to train with amazing and talented instructors by the names of Amanda McCorkle, Michelle Nance, Lynzy Lab, Megan Moss, Brandon Gonzales, Kaysie Seitz-Brown, and Torens Johnson. Being able to train under these instructors has allowed Mr. Saucedo to learn and broaden his skill set as a dancer.

He has also worked with many classmates and choreographers to help bring their visions to life, and with this have come many performance opportunities. He has performed for fellow classmates for their BFA senior thesis pieces by the names of "The Ferryman’s Endless Travel," choreographed by the talented Alexzandria Turley; Homeostasis," choreographed by the innovative Faith Schoop; and "Down by the Water," choreographed by the gifted Clara Dutton. John Saucedo has also performed other works, for example, the Advanced Choreography Showcase. He has performed pieces like "Haze" by the inventive Lexie Havelka, "I am" by the artistic Brie Cross, and "Chat GBT" by Brandon Gonzales, which was choreographed in his performance workshop class.

John Saucedo is also a 2-year member of the Texas State Dance Company, CIM TEYA (Creation In Motion Touring Ensemble for Young Audiences), which tours local schools and performs educational STREAM-based dances. Being a part of this dance company allowed Mr. Saucedo to work under the direction of Kaysie Seitz-Brown as well as perform works by guest choreographers such as "Adhesion, Activation, Aggregation," choreographed by the brilliant Amanda McCorckle, "Lost and Found in the Losses, by the energetic Misty Galvan, and so many more. John chose to be a part of CIM TEYA so he could inspire younger boys to dance just like others did for him.

John’s goal after graduation is to become a backup dancer so that he can do what he loves the most: perform. He plans on going to LA so that he can audition for performance groups like VMO as well as train at the Millennium Dance Company, which will provide him with more experience in the professional dance community.
